The program’s title, “From Posies to Trees”, features musical landscapes, exploring sound images from flowers, exploding volcanoes and city trees. The ensemble will also perform the first movement of Edvard Grieg’s Piano concerto in A minor, featuring SOU graduate student in piano performance Anson Ka Lik Sin. Music selections on the program include: City Trees by Michael Markowski, Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger, Vesuvius by Frank Ticheli, Unquiet Spirits by John Mackey, plus Purple Carnival March by Harry Alford.
